Project
Designed a high-efficiency 5V voltage regulator circuit in KiCad, built around the LM7805, a widely used linear regulator known
for its reliability and simplicity in delivering a stable 5V output. The project focused on optimizing power regulation, ensuring minimal
ripple, and enhancing thermal efficiency for various electronic applications. Using KiCad’s schematic and PCB layout tools, I strategically
placed input and output capacitors to filter noise and improve transient response.
The circuit also included heat dissipation enhancements,
such as an optimized PCB layout for thermal management and optional heat sink mounting. Additionally, reverse polarity protection and overcurrent
safeguards were incorporated to ensure robust and long-lasting operation. This project serves as a foundational power regulation solution suitable
for embedded systems, microcontroller circuits, and general-purpose electronics.
