About The Project

Designed a high-efficiency Li-Po (Lithium Polymer) battery charger circuit in KiCad, centered around the MCP73831, a dedicated Li-Po charging IC known for its compact design and reliable performance. The project involved configuring the MCP73831 to control the charging cycle, enabling precise regulation of charging voltage and current, and ensuring optimal battery health.

Using KiCad's schematic and PCB layout tools, I carefully placed supporting components, such as capacitors for input filtering and resistors for current-limiting, to enhance stability and efficiency. The layout also incorporated essential safety features, including reverse polarity protection and thermal management, providing a reliable and industry-standard solution for Li-Po battery charging applications.
